Vote By Mail

Option 1

  •       ‪Complete and submit the online Application to Vote by Mail.

  •       Once processed, your ballot will be mailed upon availability.

‪Option 2

  • Obtain an official Vote by Mail Ballot Application by:

    • Downloading the Vote by Mail Application from this website.

    • Picking one up from any DuPage County registration location. 

    • Calling the Election Division to request an Application at (630) 407-5600, Spanish (630) 407- 5608, TDD: (630) 407-5631

  • ·After receiving the Vote by Mail Ballot Application, complete and return it to the Election Division as soon as possible.

  • When available, your ballot will be mailed upon receipt of the completed application. 

 

The last day to mail a ballot to a voter is the Thursday (5 days) prior to the election.

Voted ballot must be postmarked no later than Election day in order to be counted.

 

Permanently Disabled Vote by Mail Program

If you are a registered voter who has a permanent disability or physical incapacity of such a nature as to make it improbable that you will be able to be present at the polls at any future election, you may enroll in the Permanently Disabled Vote by Mail Program.

An Application for Identification Card by an Elector Who is Permanently Disabled/Affidavit of Attending Physician form must be completed (also signed by the voter's doctor) and submitted to the Election Division in order to be enrolled in the program.

  • Mail completed form to:

Once enrolled in the program, the Election Division automatically sends an Application for Vote by Mail Ballot by an Elector who is Permanently Incapacitated form and ballot to the voter for every election held in the five-year period following enrollment in the program.

Registered Voter Admitted to Hospital, Nursing Home or Rehabilitation Center Within 14 Days of Election

Any qualified voter who has been admitted to a hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation center due to an illness or physical injury not more than 14 days before an election is entitled to personal delivery of a Vote by Mail ballot in the hospital, nursing home or rehabilitation center. An Application for Ballot for Qualified Voter Admitted to Hospital, Nursing Home or Rehabilitation Center Not More Than 14 Days Before an Election form must be completed by the voter and admitting physician, then delivered to the Election Division office by a relative of the voter or a registered voter of the same precinct as voter to receive a Vote by Mail ballot.

  • Download the Application for Ballot for Qualified Voter Admitted to Hospital, Nursing Home or Rehabilitation Center form.

  • Contact the Election Division for additional information.

 

U.S. Service and Citizens Overseas Absentee Voting

The Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) website provides information to U.S. citizens covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA).

 U.S. Service and citizens of the United States temporarily residing outside the U.S. may submit a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to receive a Vote by Mail ballot.

 It is recommended that U.S. Service and Citizens Overseas submit a FPCA annually in the month of January and whenever there is a mailing address change to insure proper mailing of ballots.

 PLEASE NOTE:  The FPCA is only for U.S. Service Members, their spouses and dependents and Citizens of the United States residing overseas. 

  • Follow instructions for completing the online version of the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) and to download the form.

  • Mail completed form to:
