Our next meeting is Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 P.M.

DuPage County Auditor Bill White will be our guest speaker.

Doors open at 7 P.M. at the Glen Ellyn Historical Society, 800 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn. The meeting starts at 7:30 P.M.

A social hour will follow.

Auditor White will speak about "What County Auditors Do and Why It Matters".

The core mission of a governmental auditor is to provide accountability for the expenditure of public resources that are typically raised through taxation. As a Democrat, Bill White believes taxation is appropriate to fund programs and services that serve the public interest. However, our community must receive fair value in exchange for our tax dollars. Public sector auditors serve the public interest by providing reasonable assurance to the community that our governments are effective, efficient, and transparent.

In his presentation to the Milton Township Democrats, County Auditor Bill White will explain his specific statutory duties, and how they apply to DuPage County. He will connect these specific duties to the larger mission and purpose of public sector auditing.
